Author's Chair, Renewable/Nonrenewable Resources Research, National Parks Presentations, and UNITY DAY!
In math, we are working on multiplying 2x2.
The kids are learning MANY different ways to solve including the distributive property, partial products, area model, and standard algorithm. On Friday, kids chose which strategy they would like to work on to master the skill of multiplying 2x2. The kids can choose the strategy that works best for them and the one that gives them an accurate answer. These sheets will be coming home on Monday.
Congrats to our new Kindness and Grit Award recipients!
In Social Studies, we are learning about renewable and nonrenewable resources on Earth.
We did some research today after reading an article and worked to categorize different resources as renewable or nonrenewable.
Our Apex Predator information essay Author's Chair!
I am so proud of the kids as they researched, organized information, completed a rough draft, then worked to complete a final published draft for their predator.
You will find a rubric coming home with your 4th grader's book this week along with their rough drafts so you can see from start to finish all of the work!
WAY TO GO, Cacioppo Crew!
On Fridays, we have a special time of day called Share Something Great!
I love the opportunity for kids to learn from one another and to see special interests outside of school.
On Thursday, Mrs. Chroman came in for an SEL lesson.
Today we learned about Thought and Speech Bubbles.
Sometimes things are better left inside our thoughts.
We learned about different situations and how have an opportunity in each situation to say something or to keep it in our thoughts (especially if it is a negative comment).
More Author's Chair...
We are thankful for time in the morning to get out on the playground and play!
I was dizzy watching these kids spin so fast.
On Wednesday, the kids that stay in the room during Leadership Teams began a newspaper.
I will take what they wrote in the raw (no edits) and put it in a Smore Newsletter to share with families.
Be on the lookout in our weekly email from Mrs. C.
The first look at our Apex Predator books after going through "publication."
Unity Day was Wednesday!
We had a beautiful day outside. We were impressed watching the drone do its tricks in the sky
as it captured the final picture!
Earlier this week, we combined a Digital Citizenship lesson with being an upstander for others.
We helped Ms. Allam with her bulletin board!
We took time to present our information on National Parks.
These will be coming home soon!
Last week's winners for Kindness and Grit Awards.
Way to go, Cacioppo Crew!
I am so proud of what we are accomplishing in class. Kids are working hard,
challenging each other to complete work to higher standards, and working together to coach through
when someone needs extra assistance. My heart is so happy!
