Celebration Stickers, Energy, Kindness Rocks, and 3rd Grade Music Show (out of order of course!)

Each week we take time to celebrate our accomplishments in and out of class.
Our celebration stickers are a great time to reflect on how we are growing at school!

In science, we are learning about how energy moves and changes.
Energy can come in the form of motion, light, sound, and heat.
We were fascinated with the timeline of these energy sources.

A cold wind blows...
We played a fun class game where we learn more about each other based on the statement.
For example, a cold wind blows if you like cats.
Kids would get up and move to a new seat if the statement applied to them.

We spread our kindness rocks around Kipling!

We went to the 3rd grade music show!

Mrs. Kraus and I enjoying the 3rd grade music show!

We ran our first science stations for this unit.
We observed how energy moves and changes!

Kids worked to complete their entries for the spooky saga.
Our first batch of entries went in today.
If you haven't granted permission for me to send your child's work in for the contest,
please let me know by Tuesday!

The day after completing our read and responds independently, we discussed our answers with classmates.
There were plenty of great discussions and kids going back in the text to confirm their answers.
This is AMAZING work!

Our kindness and grit award recipients this week:

Long ago back when I taught 1st grade, I won a grant to purchase robotics for my class.
Today the kids had the opportunity to explore Cubelets and Ozobots.
Here are pictures of the kids working with Cubelets!

Have a great weekend!
