Executive Functioning, Middle School Music Assembly, and Goods/Services/Money

5th Grade Executive Functioning Presentations:

We have learned about focused attention and time management so far.

We are trying to apply what we learn in the lessons to the attention and focus that we have in class!

Mrs. C got all mushy seeing former students at the middle school orchestra, choir, and jazz band concert this week. The kids were so impressed with how well the kids sang and played.
Many were excited to think about how great they can be by the time they reach this age.

We like to take turns asking and answering silly questions from our daily 5. We learn a little bit about our classmates and make connections with them.

In LMC, we are learning about poetry. We learned how to take words that stand out from a text (information, fiction, news article, magazine, and more) to create our own poems.

We read about Eco-Friendly foods in our mentor text this week.
The kids worked to go back in the text to provide evidence to support after completing a collaborative discussion with a partner. We typed our responses and they will be posted on Seesaw shortly.

Meet Gallon Man/Woman:
We spent time earlier this week rocking out to the Beatles and crafting our Gallon Man/Woman.
We used it to help us solve conversions with capacities.

Wednesday was Administrative Assistants Day.
We signed cards for Ms. Pfeffer and Mrs. Barr and delivered some flowers to show our appreciation.
We couldn't do it without them!

We worked in small groups to create scenarios to demonstrate how goods, services, and money are exchanged. This really helped us to understand vocabulary and make sense of how the market economy works.

Congratulations to our Kindness and Grit Award Recipients this week!
